Day 1) Arrival at Tbilisi airport and transfer to Kutaisi. On the way, we will visit Mtskheta city and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Arrive at the hotel in Kutaisi. If we have time, we will walk around Kutaisi.
Day 2) Kutaisi - Enguri Dam – Mestia (Breakfast/Dinner)
After breakfast, we head to the mysterious region of Svaneti, passing through the Enguri Dam. The Enguri Dam is the largest and most powerful power plant in the Caucasus, producing over 700 megawatts of electricity. The dam is 276 meters high and holds 1,110 million cubic meters of water. Svaneti is known for its original and authentic architecture and is dubbed “the land of a thousand towers.” These towers once played an important economic and defensive role in the region’s history. Overnight at the hotel in Mestia.
Day 3) After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Ushguli village — the highest standing settlement in Europe (2,200 meters). The Ushguli architectural complex is a valuable historical monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Around 70 families (approximately 200 people) live in Ushguli. Enjoy strolling through the old narrow streets. Visit the Lamaria Church complex, famous for its impressive 10th-century wall frescoes. Hike towards the highest peak in Georgia — Mount Shkhara — and see the origin of the Enguri River (16 km total hike, 5–6 hours). Return to Mestia for overnight.
Day 4) Breakfast. Visit Koruldi Lakes. From Mestia to Koruldi Lakes, travel by well-equipped 4x4 off-road vehicle. Enjoy a 12 km hike (4–5 hours). The lakes are always filled with crystal-clear water, and their glittering surfaces reflect the snow-capped peaks behind them, creating an unforgettable landscape. Overnight in Mestia.
Day 5) After breakfast, drive to Becho Waterfall. Hike 7 km total. Those who prefer can ride horses (100 GEL per person, extra). Walk through an amazing forest and cross a bridge over a fast-flowing river. Overnight in Mestia.
Day 6) Drive to Kutaisi. Visit Bagrati Cathedral. Overnight in Kutaisi.
Day 7) Drive to Tbilisi. On the way, visit Uplistsikhe Cave City — literally “Fortress of God” — an ancient rock-hewn town that played a significant role in Georgian history for nearly 3,000 years. The cave town is divided into lower, central, and upper sections, covering an area of almost 40,000 square meters. Uplistsikhe is remarkable for its unique combination of styles from various rock-cut cultures, notably from Cappadocia (modern Turkey) and Northern Iran. Continue to Tbilisi. Enjoy an evening walking tour and dinner at a restaurant. Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 8) Free time in Tbilisi or at the mall. Transfer to airport.
